ECO2Clouds adopts an experimentally driven research methodology and adds an eco-aware service model on top of an existing FIRE facility. By considering ecological implications of running application on Cloud, the project promises to radicalise the way applications are deployed and managed on the Cloud infrastructure. This approach is expected to benefit: datacentre owners, cloud providers, application engineers/cloud consumers, BonFIRE providers, software providers, hardware producers, and environmental, energy and health agencies.
